A friend of mine has this coin in her collection. She has had it for about 30 years. This one coin has always baffled her. We can't find it in any book.
It's odd shaped, not perfertly round with the image if a house or a hut on one side and the other side is a big "+" with half moon shapes at each end and in between around the rim. Some sort of floral design in between each 1\4 space. I will try to post a pic later, just hoped someone might have seen one before. Thanks

If you don't know American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins are put out by the US government each year as a way to own an ounce of .999 pure silver. They are legal tender but were never meant to be spent. Somehow locals on an island got hold of a HUGE quantity of them and have been using them at their face value of $1.00 even though they are worth over $7.00 each just in silver content. check out this article it is hysterical:

<!--EZCODE LINK...

I have an old 'coin'. It was found in Arizona, I believe. It has a carving of the face of a bearded man (Jesuit?) on one side with a word that looks like Teachcia and the number 8 laying on its side. On the reverse side is a carving of a mermaid, one arm up and the other out to her side, a carved bird in flight and the word Fortuna. Does anyone know what this item is?
