Im a teen in Antelope Valley, CA and would love to get into searching for lost artifacts and all the things that go along with it.

Welcome to the forum!

You should find plenty to read up on here, but you may also want to consider buying a copy of Thomas P Terry's "United States Treasure Atlas" volume with the State of California. You will find plenty of treasure stories right in your own area. California in particular has so many treasure stories that the State was broken down into several sections in this volume of the atlas.

The last time I looked, it could be found at therockerbox.com for about $16.00 or so a volume. (The treasure atlas is 10 volumes.)
