5,000 Gold Coins in Baltimore

Post Number:#1  Postby PhillyJack » Wed Oct 19, 2016 10:57 pm

In 1934, two Baltimore boys unearthed a pot containing 5,000 gold coins from beneath a house near the Inner Harbor. For years it was assumed that the enormous treasure find represented the life savings of some wealthy miser. The new Book Knights' Gold will prove that the coins were actually the property of the Baltimore chapter of the Knights of the Golden Circle. The coins were directly linked to many of Baltimore's leading secessionists including John Wilkes Booth, who lived just four blocks from the treasure site.
